IDE displayed with blank menus and buttons

Hi all,

My fresh installation of Lazarus on freshly installed Kubuntu 8.10
have a peculiar problem. The whole IDE is displayed with blank menus
and controls. And also on startup it complains about missing fpc
source files in the folder, which I checked to found is in place.

Please help me to solve this problem.

I have a similar issue on my laptop Asus EEE 901 with Ubuntu 8.04 EEE
installed on it. The mainIDE window appears to be refreshing over and
over again resulting in not to draw any of the buttons. However the
pages (Standard, System, SynEdit, etc.) appear and are clickable but
they are all empty. The IDE can't be closed after a window have been
opened with its menu but it can be killed using the System Monitor. My
Lazarus is a 0.9.26 installed by Synaptic. I can upload a srceenshot
if it would help you to determine what is this.

Long time after my first message, now I installed Kubuntu 9.04 and
Lazarus using apt-get. Again the same issue cropped up. All menus and
toolbars are appearing without strings. only menu and button images
are visible. Even if I compile a project, that also run in the
debugger without any strings visible. I wonder where lies the problem.
Anybody there have any clue?

As I can see all widgets that using GtkLabel internally are blank. Do
you see any errors in the terminal (if you run lazarus from the
terminal)? Here on ubuntu 9.04 all is fine (I tested both on 64bit and
32bit systems).
