How do I create executable program under Linux? lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- victorhelsing · 2008-11-07 05:47 I just created a minimal GUI program using lazarus, but when I try to run the program: ./test I get an error cannot find libgnomexxx.so... With a more complex program, I get the error: "libborqt-6.9-qt2.3.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" when running it directly. Under Kylix, I had to create a shell script that included export LD_LIBRARY_PATH.  I assume I must do something similar for Lazarus but cannot find it in the documentation.  Can you point me in the right direction?  I would be VERY grateful! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- theo · 2008-11-07 09:17 Is this on the same machine as the Lazarus-IDE is running? Which Widgetset are you compiling against? GTK, GKT2... ? Operating System? > "libborqt-6.9-qt2.3.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" This is the Borland Qt Interface Library for CLX. It has nothing to do with Lazarus. Or are you trying to build the CLX with FPC? http://wiki.freepascal.org/Building_the_CLX_with_FPC ---------------------------------------------------------------------- victorhelsing · 2008-11-08 07:28 Thanks for the quick reply.  The larger program was originally developed under Delphi and ported to Kylix - there must be a vestigial reference which pulls in the QT library.  I will search for that. If I understand your reply correctly, there should be no additional libraries or paths required for a Lazarus program. By the way, I really appreciated your patches to allow Kylix to run under Suse.  It allowed me to move from Delphi/Windows to Linux originally.  Unfortunately, I still encountered enough (long term) issues with the Borland abandonment of Kylix that I decided to migrate to Lazarus.  Have you completely moved to Lazarus as well? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- theo · 2008-11-08 12:49 Quote from: "victorhelsing" Have you completely moved to Lazarus as well? Sure! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- victorhelsing · 2008-11-08 20:07 It turned out to be something pretty stupid on my part, not a problem with Lazarus. I really like the new version of Lazarus (9.26) and am planning to try out 9.27 once I get my software completely converted.
