Sorry Sir but I'm professional, I don't live in a virtual world, I want facts. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2008-08-16 19:34 Quote from: "sternas"Oh Can you Sir, post photos of ONE linux distribution with lazarus 2.5, running without problems? I am sorry, Lazarus 2.5 is not expected until somewhere in the 2020's (extrapolating current speed of releases). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sternas Stefanos · 2008-08-17 03:40 Sorry Sir Is Lazarus 0.9.25 Now, can you answer my question? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2008-08-17 14:44 I am sorry, but do you want a screen shot of Lazarus 0.9.25 running on linux, to prove that it is running without problems? If so, there is a screen shot in wikipedia, but I don't know how much that proves. The best prove is to install and try it yourself. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ñuño_Martínez · 2008-08-19 08:28 0.9.24 beta is running in my Kubuntu without problems. Just installing. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2008-08-19 13:04 http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Image:Lazarus_IDE_GTK2.png ---------------------------------------------------------------------- bee · 2008-08-22 03:29 @sternas: You're a professional, but can't compile/install lazarus on linux? Yet, you accused Lazarus is a fake cross platform dev tool. And, you took a screenshot as a FACT? Wow, you must be very "professional". Are you a developer or manager? I can give you latest Lazarus 0.9.25 screenshots on windows, linux, and mac os x. But, why should I? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sternas Stefanos · 2008-08-22 13:54 Dear "bee". "You're a professional, but can't compile/install lazarus on linux? Yet, you accused Lazarus is a fake cross platform dev tool. And, you took a screenshot as a FACT? Wow, you must be very "professional". Razz Are you a developer or manager? " How old are you? "I can give you latest Lazarus 0.9.25 screenshots on windows, linux, and mac os x. But, why should I" This is your Virtual World Sir, In my World, we use Forums for get/give answers. Now... can you tell us how to install/compile lazarus from SVN ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Legolas · 2008-08-22 16:49 1-Get Lazarus sources from SVN 2-Install freepascal 3-Go to Lazarus sources directory and do "make all" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sternas Stefanos · 2008-08-22 19:29 Thank (Legolas) But how to install Freepascal ver 2.3.1 (SVN) to my Ubuntu x64 Linux ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Legolas · 2008-08-22 23:58 There is a daily build of SVN development tree (2.3.1) here: ftp://ftp.freepascal.org/pub/fpc/snapshot/trunk/x86_64-linux/ I'm on windows, so I can't help you further, sorry ---------------------------------------------------------------------- bee · 2008-08-23 08:44 You may start from here: http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Installing_Lazarus_on_MacOS_X Though the title says it's for Mac OS X, but the steps for other platform are similar. Hence you're a professional, I believe you could "improvise" a little bit to make it work on your particular platform. You can also dig the wiki to find other useful informations. HTH. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sternas Stefanos · 2008-08-23 16:15 Dear Sir (bee) Your Virtual World It's soooo Big ? Read my "HowTo" posts to learn something... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- bee · 2008-08-24 04:25 About your HowTo posts, I found them a little bit "unusual" since you need to run Lazarus (always?) as root. You seemed to be improvising a bit there. If it works then good for you then. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ñuño_Martínez · 2008-08-25 08:43 There's something I don't understand, Mr./Mrs. sternas. Your profile says you joined to the Lazarus forums in 2004. In all these four years, What did you do? I mean, you ask that "all this MultiOS Story is Fake". If you were using Lazarus from 2004 you must know about it. By the way, I agree that Mr. bee is a bit rude sometimes, but his last post is a kind one so I think your last one is out of place. Quote from: "bee"About your HowTo posts, I found them a little bit "unusual" since you need to run Lazarus (always?) as root. Wink You seemed to be improvising a bit there. If it works then good for you then. Well, just changing some user permissions (go+x may be?) should fix this, shouldn't it? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- bee · 2008-08-25 10:31 > By the way, I agree that Mr. bee is a bit rude sometimes Hahaha... I won't be rude if he asked a little bit polite. I'm not that bad. I'm just easily intrigued by FUD, especially about FPC and Lazarus. > Well, just changing some user permissions (go+x may be?) should fix this, shouldn't it? It should, or sort of. FPC and Lazarus has provided good build scripts for us so you shouldn't need to do that. Simply "make clean" then "make all" then "sudo make install" from within the svn folder, then they're all set. Ok, I make a bit simplification here, but you should know what I mean. Just read the wikis, they're all there! Why don't just people read the provided wiki, or google a bit, instead of spreading FUD? I don't understand. Maybe professionals don't know how to use wiki? Anyway, he had solved his problem using his own way. Let's wish him luck. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sternas Stefanos · 2008-08-26 19:07 Dear Sir (Martinez) <> That's right sir, BUT, all these years I see a forum with no <> posts. With my post, (sorry) but I want to see the quality (the level) of this forum. I support Freepascal and lazarus but WE must go further and not with this kind of forum level. Do you agree sir? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sternas Stefanos · 2008-08-26 19:23 Dear Sir (bee) Execute <> to a terminal and change user permissions to /tmp folder or delete all project files to /tmp folder OK. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- bee · 2008-08-27 05:55 @sternas: Hey, I'm not the one who had problem with FPC/Laz installation. I had them all set on my development machine (windows, linux, and mac). I don't need to open terminal nor become root to run Lazarus on Linux. Synaptic even provide shortcut on its start menu inside programming section. Yes, you can do it all by yourself manually. But, with current modern Linux distros, it should be lot easier and more user friendly. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sternas Stefanos · 2008-08-27 13:35 Oh.. CAN YOU POST A PHOTO OF YOUR Mutli-OS <> SIR ? Wrong! It's 0.9.24.1, the fixes version of 0.9.24. Learn to look?! It's available on SVN. Yes, they are old. I'm too lazy to capture my latest Lazarus. I just informed you my old Lazarus capture. Lesson to learn (for you?)... the SVN is available since ages and there are SVN versions for stable releases as well. I use SVN for three versions of each FPC and Lazarus version: stable (from tags), fix (from branches), and devel (from trunk), and install them altogether. I doubt you understand my language, but I once posted about my experience working with FPC/Lazarus SVN, in my blog here. Oh wait, it's an old post too! You must think that it's not valid either, right? I advertise a lot about FPC/Lazarus to Delphi/Pascal developers community in my country. That's why I wrote about FPC/Laz in my blog mostly using my native language, to attract other Delphi/Pascal developers fellows in my country to FPC/Laz as cross platform pascal dev-tool. So, I don't need to prove to you that I do use SVN. BTW... I'm glad to know you (finally) able to install Lazarus. I hope now you know that multi OS development using FPC/Laz is not fake! I also hope you don't spread that FUD again. Good luck.
