Copy / write to a UNC path lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tech-pro · 2008-07-17 14:41 I have a KDE program, Konserve, that can back up to an unmounted external share if you specify a path like smb://host/path/filename. I want to have this functionality in my program. In Windows, I'm pretty sure you can do this using normal Lazarus/Pascal functions (CopyFile, Filename property of a FileStream) by specifying a UNC path like \\host\path\filename. In Linux, I cannot find any way to do this. With or without "smb:" at the start of the path I just get an error. If I use the Windows format of backslashes an actual file of that name gets created in my project folder that I have trouble deleting. Any pointers? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tech-pro · 2008-07-18 09:26 Well, for what it's worth, I solved this problem by examining the path, and if it starts with smb:, parsing it into a command line for smbclient that I execute using fpSystem.
