Problem Running Lazarus on Linux Slackware 12.0 lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rp1omnir · 2008-07-07 07:13 I'm wondering if anyone can help me with this problem. I installed Lazarus on my Linux box running Slackware 12.0 and I am getting the following error. startlazarus: error while loading shared libraries: libgdk_pixbuf.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Any help would be greatly appreciated. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- WibblyTim · 2008-07-08 21:04 You need to install the libgdk_pixbuf library from either the Slackware discs or the online repositories. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rp1omnir · 2008-07-09 09:26 Thanks for the suggestion. I think the problem might be that Lazarus is looking for libgdk_pixbuf.so.2 and on my system I have in the /usr/lib directory libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.so.0 Is there any Lazarus configuration file that I can access to change the version of the pixbuf library that is being used? I think the problem may be that Lazarus is configured to use a previous version of this library. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- WibblyTim · 2008-07-10 12:04 I had a look on the Lazarus Wiki and found this http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Installing_Lazarus This should give you an idea of what you need to do to get Lazarus running. I cannot help you further than this I'm afraid as I use Mandriva 2008 not Slackware. Good Luck.
