Installing on Ubuntu 7.10 lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- smot · 2008-03-30 15:27 Having installed Lazarus on a Ubuntu distribution, the IDE starts up happily, but the component toolbar is completely empty. Is there something I should be doing to get the components visible? Thanks! Smot ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ñuño_Martínez · 2008-04-02 16:41 How did you install Lazarus? Did you use the "Add/remove applications" program? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- smot · 2008-04-04 19:37 I used the Synaptic loader. Does that make a difference? Smot ---------------------------------------------------------------------- cyber_python · 2008-04-06 15:21 I also run Lazarus under ubuntu 7.10 . I suggest that you use synaptic to uninstall it (right click - completely remove) and then: search for 'freepascal' in synaptic and install all available packages and then follow this guide : https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/16174 For me it worked (also, to have a nice-looking IDE you should start lazarus from a terminal with "sudo startlazarus" and rebuild the IDE for GTK2). EDIT : In orfer to get the latest stable version you can use the Lazarus Ubuntu repository( Check out this thread : http://www.lazarus. freepascal.org/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file;=viewtopic&t;=5229 ).
