AMD X64 processors

Does Lazarus/fpc work on AMD x64 processors? This is related my post a
few topics below. I can get fpc installed for x86_64 but lazarusx86_64
keeps complaining about missing dependencies. As I get the missing
dependencies new one are asked for. The last was glibc 2.3 which is
really old. I have glibc 2.7 installed. Fedora 8 and AMD BE2400.

Am I just wasting time trying to get this to work?

It's not the AMD, I guess. But it's your OS. If you can get fpc
working, then indeed the problem is on Lazarus dependencies.

Lazarus works fine here on ubuntu 64bit. I compiled it from source
myself tho, using fpc 2.2.1 from source

Linux isn't binary inter-compatible, depending on your distro and the
package you used to install you might get binaries which won't work
for the sake of not working because of GNU crap (libc etc.). A simple
recompilation will fix it.
