Faster StringGrid

Hi,
I made app with StringGrid as spreadsheet but have some problems with
delay on some operations on cells (move -key left right, past ...)
when RowCount is big (about 2000 - 4000).
Linux and Windows.

Is there any way to speed up StringGrid ? I've some code OnDrawCell
but without this code diffirent is verry small.

I'll be greatly appreciated for any help.

It's possible that TStringGrid was never intended for that many rows
since it stores all data as strings in the grid.

Have you looked at the ported Orpheus TOvcTable grid control? All data
is stored external to the table in your program or database and your
program supplies the cell data and its formatting "on demand" via
event handlers.
