Problem 2.2.0 installing on Ubuntu Gutsy lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MrBaseball34 · 2007-12-13 03:28 Downloaded the "one big file" here:     ftp://ftp.freepascal.org/pub/fpc/dist/i386-linux-2.2.0/fpc- 2.2.0.i386-linux.tar Unarchived to /home/eddie and ran "sh install.sh" from /home/eddie. Tried entering /usr or /usr/local and kept getting errors, so just hit enter key and it installed. However, Lazarus complains that it can't set the FPC directories screenshot: (http://66.96.222.85/~shipman/Lazarus_Screenshot.png) Can anyone help out here? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2007-12-13 07:20 Go to Environment Options, there's a box entitled "FPC source directory", change it to the correct one. Normally, it should be "pathwhereyouinstallfpc/fpc/2.2.0/source". Wait! The one you downloaded is the binary only, you must download the source (and you may delete all but rtl and packages directory). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MrBaseball34 · 2007-12-13 13:18 I was unaware that I downloaded the binaries only. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- piper62 · 2007-12-13 22:19 Hi, I recommend to use the Debian packages which you can find on the FPC/Lazarus site. You can download all and install them over " dpkg -i fp* ". I have normally only my lazarus directory in my home. I leave the fpc system in the responsibility of the package administration.
