Absolute Linux (slackware 12 "lightweight"):

when trying to compile lazarus I got the following boring message:


Makefile:28: *** You need the GNU utils package to use this Makefile.
 Stop.

where can I get such package?

The error message is clear: you need to install the GNU binutils
(which means the assembler, linker, etc)

I would suggest asking on a forum dedicated to Absolute Linux where
can one find and install this package under this distribution.
