Installing on FC7 / NVidia lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ScottMartin · 2007-08-25 03:57 I tried installing Lazarus on my FC7 install and I started getting video errors after it was installed. The display was all scrambled and I had to perform a hard reboot. All installed fine and it seemed to run fine on startup, but after 5 min or so it would mess up. (almost like it was a conflict w/ the screen saver?) Removing Lazarus from my system fixed the problem w/ my video. I have all the latest FC7 updates and the latest NVidia Driver. Installed the 1386 RPM from 3/27 (all all the suggested RPMs). Any ideas? Also, is there another update that works with fps 2.0.4.2? It kept notifying my of an fpc update, but L9.22 requires 2.0.4.0 Regards, Scott ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Almindor · 2007-08-28 17:52 I would think there's something wrong with your hardware It's quite odd that Lazarus (a normal application which does nothing with the GPU by default) should scramble your whole view and make you hard-reset. It COULD freeze X or even linux itself, but I don't think this way via gfx. Seems to me like a completely unrelated issue which just shows itself with Lazarus for some odd reason. Can't do much without more info tho.. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ScottMartin · 2007-08-28 18:20 Understood. I was reluctant to relate Lazarus to the problem as well. I believe I am going to install on another clean FC7 machine and see if this is just an isolated occurance. Thanks, Scott. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- conray · 2007-09-20 19:27 i myself will try lazarus on  fc7, i have some difficulties on ubuntu and on suse10.2 .
