tProcess seems to fail under linux lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jluix · 2007-08-15 14:01 Hi! I'm trying to compile into linux an application that I wrote in Lazarus under windows and I've noticed TProcess component doesn't work fine if the properties windowheight, windowwidth... and the complementary suoUseShow, suoUseSize have different values than the default ones false or zero (I've obtained the same behaviour with very simple examples). Under windows it works fine (I can force the dimension the application that I launch with the tprocess component), but in linux it's simply not launched (I'm probing with evince pdf viewer under ubuntu gutsy gibbon tribe 3). If I let the default values for those properties tprocess launch evince successfully. :?: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- antonio · 2007-08-15 14:22 If you can provide detailed information about what happens, try the bugtracker. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jluix · 2007-08-15 16:51 I don't know how to use the bugtracker but is very simple to reproduce the issue. Only drag a tprocess object into a form, put in the commandline propertie "evince" and then change the value of windowwith to a value different of zero. When you tun the project evince doesn't appear. Then put that propertie to zero (maybe you have to change suouseSize to false because the change of windowwidth put that propertie to true) and evince appears. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- antonio · 2007-08-15 17:27 I did it, but when I tried to set TProcess' Active property to True, I obtained the error message "Failed to execute 'evince' : 2". I tried "notepad" (win32) instead of "evince" and, when I set Active property to True, Notepad executes even on design time. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jluix · 2007-08-15 18:36 I said that tprocess doesn't work in linux, but  your are trying it in windows. Evince, as far as I know, only exists in linux, that is the reason that you get that error. Under windows tprocess works fine. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- antonio · 2007-08-15 18:42 OK Use the bugtracker, so. It's easy. http://www.freepascal.org/mantis/view_all_bug_page.php
