errors in lazarus snapshot of Aug 14th? lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- brownds · 2007-08-14 13:59 Target system Linux Ubuntu Feisty (7.0.4) 64-bit processor.   Fpc installs correctly and have installed fpc-src as well, both using "alien" The first one may be a once only file download glitch.   In trying to compile lazarus from source I got error at line 3835 in pascalparsertool. The line is a debug statement and had corrupt characters that failed to terminate the string, hence the error. So just in case this is not my bad luck in downloading ... :-) The second is in ide/lazarus.pp where the include for revision.inc errors.   Line 37 if I recall correctly.   "Could not find the file." Thinking this may be another downloading glitch I tried deleting and re-typing the offending line but no joy.   Then I looked for the revision.inc file and found it in /usr/lib/lazarus/ide/revision.inc   A previous included file (ide.inc) which was loading correctly I found in /usr/lib/lazarus/ide/include, so I copied the revision.inc file into that subdirectory too.   No benefit. Finally I just deleted the include statement in lazarus.pp and substituted the (one line) contents of revision.inc and that made it compile okay. Now it is stumbling on a missing glib during linking, but I suspect that I'm needing to load glib-dev and friends, since this is otherwise a brand new Ubuntu installation :-) Kind regards, Denis
