gtk2 problem - again ?? lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- imdot · 2007-07-19 17:26 Hi there, i just istalled lazarus and gtk2... and it compiels like a charm. I can even code my projects in gtk2 ... but i cant get my ide to change from gtk1 to gtk2... someone has any idea ehats going wrong ? and yes i already changed the build options and rebuild .... no change at all  its still gtk2 thanx to allofyou ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Almindor · 2007-07-20 11:04 You mean it's still gtk1 right? Have you started Lazarus with "startlazarus" binary? Have you set everything (not just LCL) to "clean/rebuild" and have you changed the target (on the right) to gtk2 in the configure build options? If you use a local copy, you can also try "make clean" and "make LCL_PLATFORM="gtk2"" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- imdot · 2007-07-20 15:40 gtk1 of course you are right... and yes i tried those things already .. to no avail i would  stand a chance to understand this bull if i got a error message or something but i don't .... u got any idea ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- felipemdc · 2007-07-20 15:42 how did you install Lazarus? If you install lazarus from a rpm package or a deb package it will stay only writable to the root user. For rebuilding lazarus it's usually better to download from subversion (specially if you are testing gtk2), and compile it then. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- imdot · 2007-07-22 07:15 ok.... i finally got it right... laarus stored data in my homepath in .lazarus.... and this remained even when removing (or purging) lazarus via apt.... so i deleted the data myself, removed all packages and reinstalled from source... voila ... thanks to all of you... someone should really do a simple install script for lazarus... with packages needed for gtk2 and so.... i'm not sure if i can do it (i'm not deep into bash developing)... for all those neewbies out there (like me)
