Ubuntu WUBI -try to install Lazarus 0.9.22-1 "Dependenc

I have installed FPC and FP - i can run them from the terminal.

Using the Ubuntu lazarus deb image i get this error message
"Dependency is not satisfiable: libc6"
Libc6 IS installed, at least a version.

Then if I try to install another libc6 there is a conflivt
with tzdata.

I am a newbie to Linux installs.

Thanks in advance to any pointers.

I had the same problem. I think the trouble is we have a different
version of Ubuntu to the one the deb was compiled for. I'm running
"fiesty fawn" and there is not a .deb for that version.

I think you will have to try compiling from source. I downloaded the
.tar.gz of the source and compiled, based on this article
http://www.howtoforge.com/lazarus_ubuntu but I got a linker error:

/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lglib
lazarus.pp(119,1) Error: Error while linking

I can't find out what lglib is or what to install to eliminate the
error. Anyone?

Got the same message after installing from synaptic in PCLinuxOs
Code: [Select]/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lglib
project1.lpr(17,1) Error: Error while linking
project1.lpr(17,1) Fatal: There were 1 errors compiling module,
stopping

you need to install development packages. In this case glib-devel
