Problem with every new snapshot update - help lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- beli0135 · 2007-04-15 13:19 I have installed lazarus few times, but always had problems with upgrading to new snapshot. here is what happens: 1. fpc and fpc sources  RPM installs OK 2. It overwrites my FPC.CFG  (that is bad, my paths disappear) 3. rpm -Uvh lazarus-0.9.23-20070414.i386.rpm  complains fpc-src = FPCSRCVERSION is needed by lazarus-0.9.23-20070414.i386 4. if I use rpm -Uvh lazarus-0.9.23-20070414.i386.rpm --nodeps it installs but when lazarus is started it is old version. OK... what I want is that I am able to upgrade to new snapshot version without loosing .cfg and to be able to work immediately What should I do or how should I do it? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Wanagen · 2007-04-16 01:27 Try this : download the latest snapshot : ftp://ftp.hu.freepascal.org/pub/lazarus/lazarus-0.9.xx-2007xxxx- src.tar.bz2 decompress it in your lazarus directory (mine is /usr/lib/lazarus) and do "make" in this directory. Then rebuid lazarus using the widgettype you usualy use.(i do it with gtk2) That way you dont loose your fpc.cfg ---------------------------------------------------------------------- beli0135 · 2007-04-17 23:07 Thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2007-04-18 11:29 I think I just fixed this dependency problem with the rpms. You can try tomorrow's snapshots.
