Installing Lazarus on Ubuntu 6.06 (Dapper Drake)

Hi everyone

Sorry to ask a question that has probably been asked many times, but I
have searched this forum as well as the Ubuntu forums, and the results
seem a bit confusing.

I would like to know whether there is a painless, straightforward way
to install Lazarus on Ubuntu 6.06 (Dapper Drake) specifically. I'm new
to Linux, and I'm not sure if the installation "How-To's" I read for
other releases are applicable to Dapper. Also, I'm not sure whether I
should do an RPM or a DEB installation.

Please can someone point me in the right direction.

use the version 0.9.22 for Linux (.deb), the rpm use fedora, red hat
etc
