cannot find -lgdk-x11-2.0 lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- netraken · 2007-02-11 10:07 Hi, I am trying to recompile the IDE (latest stable version) with gtk2 on ubuntu edgy. when linking I got : /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lgdk-x11-2.0 but if I # ls -l /usr/lib/libgdk-x11-2.0* lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root     26 2007-02-03 08:33 /usr/lib/libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0 -> libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0.1000.6 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 539484 2007-02-01 00:42 /usr/lib/libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0.1000.6 so I am a little puzzled : why ld can't find a lib that obviously is in the usual directory for libs? Thanks for your help, Alain ---------------------------------------------------------------------- felipemdc · 2007-02-11 10:48 > so I am a little puzzle : why ld can't find a lib that obviously is in the usual directory for libs? Because it is searching for a lib called: /usr/lib/libgdk-x11-2.0.so not .so.o and not .so.o.1000.6 This link is installed when you install the development package for the reffered library, which is probably called libgdk-x11-devel or something like this. Maybe gdk-pixbuf-devel, don´t know where this link is on ubuntu packages. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- netraken · 2007-02-11 11:23 Thanks for the input. The lib to install is libgtk2-dev.
