Insane malfunction Cursor in the IDE / Editor lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tortho · 2007-01-23 15:27 Hi, When i try to write something in the IDE, the cursor moves much faster than the text, so when the text is covering 1/3 of the screen widh, the cursor is at the end of the line. This means that when I try to put the cursor somwhere with the mouse, the text wich i write ends up some other place in the beginning of the line. This is latest published version of Lazarus on Ubuntu 6.10 Thanks ---------------------------------------------------------------------- felipemdc · 2007-01-23 19:57 Which font are you using? Maybe you are not using a monospaced font? Maybe you could try other fonts. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tortho · 2007-01-24 12:14 I tried the one that is there by default, Times, and another which I can't remember. Wich one can you reccomend? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- koko · 2007-02-06 21:21 I've the same problem, no matter if i use a fixed width font or a proportional one. Gentoo 2.6 on amd64; Lazarus version 0.9.20 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- incase · 2007-04-03 03:58 me too... the same problem with Lazarus version 0.9.22 (already rebuilt with gtk2) on Ubuntu 6.10. when i changed "Color Scheme" as "Pascal Classic" and set Font to "Monospace 10" in Editor Options, it got better... but i dont think it is a good solution for this problem. hope it would be settled well in next release ---------------------------------------------------------------------- koko · 2007-05-08 17:53 0.9.22-r1, same issue, if you need to know details about other stuff installed in my system, please ask! Font is lucida typewriter. Funny thing is that if i open another login in a nested window (Xnest) on the same machine, and open lazarus inside it,  the problem goes away! Could some X extension be the problem? I'm totally lost. with 0.9.22-r1 i've another problem too (even in Xnest), when i try to select something with the mouse, the selection starts about 3 lines down and then follows the mouse correctly. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Wanagen · 2007-05-08 21:50 Download the lastest Daily Snapshot (tar.bz2 format) rename your /usr/lib/lazarus to /usr/lib/lazarus-old untar the archive file in /usr/lib/lazarus (or the directory your linux use) delete or rename your /home/user/.lazarus directory and /root/.lazarus too as root, go to your lazarus dir and do "make" as root, launch lazarus and rebuild it with gtk2 with "clean all" option Then you just have to search the right font to have clear editor. Selecting text wil work correctly.( the bug is now fixed ) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SoariEz · 2007-08-21 08:42 I've the same problem. Ubuntu7.04+ Lazarus version 0.9.23 on GTK2 I completed today's SVN code.
