"cannot find -lXext" lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DaveWilliams · 2007-01-15 11:10 I have Lazarus 0.9.20 and fpc 2.0.4.0 installed on an FC5 system.  Installation went fine, but I've been chasing linker errors.  I used the search function and found the correct libraries needed for each problem, but now I've run into a new one. (?)  The message window is now telling me:     "/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lXext"   What do I need to do now? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- eric · 2007-01-15 13:53 You need to install the development package with libXext in it. On this Suse system the package is called xorg-x11-libXext-devel Eric ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DaveWilliams · 2007-01-16 11:04 Yes!  That did it!  I have now successfully compiled a form with a button that says "Hello World" when I click on it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- eric · 2007-01-16 19:09 Your first useful Lazarus program!
