czech characters ?? and fpc source question

hi all
i have installed lazarus from source according to tutorial on wiki but
when i press any czech character on my keyboard nothing happens only
when i press normal charactes of english .
could you advice me what to do ?
I have had before gentoo ebuild installed but there isnt possible to
install any packages like sqldb or others so i installed lazarus as
described bellow

but i didn know what directory put to enviroment option of source for
fpc i installed gentoo fpc and set source of this installation but it
is not the solution according to me .How to set the fpc source
directory ?
please advice me
PS:What do you think about my english ?

Zdravim, mam tomu rozumiet tak ze ked pises do source-editora tak ti
nejdu ceske znaky?

To je vcelku normalne, z vacsej casti je to bug v gtk1, niesom si isty
ci sa to nejako vyriesi, problem je v encodingu a podpore istych veci
v gtk1. Mne tiez nejde slovencina poriadne, pise mi blbosti namiesto
nasich znakov, je to sposobene asi roznou znakovou sadou od klavesnice
a v programe.

Anglictina ti ide dobre

i will answer in english to everyone could read it
lets say for gtk1 its ok but gentoo installed lazarus in gtk2 so gtk2
recognized my czech keyboard but gtk doesnt but i need to put czech
charactes so is there any option during compilation for gtk 2?
and how to set the fpc source directory when i installed lazarus like
here

You can set the fpc source in environment options of the IDE.
