Installation failure in CustomCodeTool lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Dogeron · 2006-10-28 22:33 Hi one and all, I'm currently trying to install lazarus on my desktop which has Frugalware 0.5 installed. Everything seems to be going fine until I hit this error message and the "make clean install" aborts... Quotecustomcodetool.pas(181,5) Error: Procedure type INLINE not supported customcodetool.pas(316,1) Fatal: There were 1 errors compiling module, stopping customcodetool.pas(26,68) Fatal: Compilation aborted make[2]: *** [allcodetoolunits.ppu] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/lazarus/components/codetools' make[1]: *** [codetools_all] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/lazarus/components' make: *** [components] Error 2 Could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks, Dog ---------------------------------------------------------------------- felipemdc · 2006-10-29 02:38 What are the specs of your desktop? Which operating system are you running? How did you install Lazarus? How did you install Free Pascal? It seams to me you have an older version of Free Pascal already installed and you tryed to compile Lazarus with it. My guess is that you need to install a newer Free Pascal. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Dogeron · 2006-10-29 09:13 Thanks for the reply Sekel, Frugalware is a linux distribution optimised for the i686. Current stable distribution provides the 2.6.17.11 kernel, GNOME 2.16, GNU C Library 2.4, GCC 4.1.1, KDE 3.5.4, XOrg 7.1 and OpenOffice.org 2.0.3. It follows Slackware philosophy, trying to be clean and efficient without too much bloat. If anyone is interested it can be found at www.frugalware.org though at the moment some areas of the website are not functioning as it is undergoing a rebuild. FreePascal was installed using Frugalware package manager through which 2 versions were available. Quotefrugalware/fpc 2.0.4-1     FreePascal Compiler frugalware/fpc-bin 2.0.4-1     FreePascal Compiler (Binary version) I installed the top version fpc 2.0.4-1 version. Running fpc -h at the commandline provide the following information regarding version. QuoteFree Pascal Compiler version 2.0.4 [2006/09/07] for i386 This appears to be the current version. The line in customcode.pas which give the error is line 180 - this is the code snippet taken from vim with line numbers switched on. And what about Lazarus? How did you install it? If it was from subversion, maybe you could try to update your subversion copy. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2006-10-30 09:12 Did you fpc installer create a /etc/fpc.cfg file that has the -Si option? If you are using the svn version of lazarus, then this problem is fixed in revision 10061. If you are using lazarus 0.9.18 compile lazarus with make OPT=''-Si".
