indy 10 and linux lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- angman · 2006-10-18 16:27 I am doing some simple test to verify yhe compatibility beetwen windows and linux of indy udpclient and server components. I did two simple programs: one cliente that send messages, and a server that add recived messages in a listbox. In windows all works without problems, while in linux the client program, when send a message give 'socket error 22' Somebody had the some problem, and know how to solve it? Thanks very much,  angman ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Hippy · 2006-11-11 11:23 When using Lazarus 0.9.14 I have had no problems with Indy 10 under Linux. Indy won't even compile in any newer version though   Which Indy version are you using? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thaimann · 2006-11-12 04:17 Is there any work being done to make indy work on the newer releases.  I have used indy under delphi and it is nice. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Hippy · 2006-11-12 12:07 I have found an easy way for RPM-based distros. If you download this version of Indy: http://www.indyproject.org/Sockets/fpc/indy-10.2.0.1.tar.gz It includes a script to build RPMs (indy-fpc-10.2.0.1-8.i386.rpm and indy-fpc-src-10.2.0.1-8.i386.rpm). Once those RPMs are installed you just need to load indylaz.lpk into Lazarus and Install it. This has worked on Fedora Core 6 using Lazarus svn from 11th November. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thaimann · 2006-11-15 03:31 Does this have to be in a specific dir when you run the script? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Hippy · 2006-11-18 14:39 As long as it's writable by the user you're logged in as.  If I remember correctly the script did have one or two problems with it but it still created the RPMs. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- angman · 2007-01-02 09:42 Please excuse me for the late in answer, I have been outside for some works. I am using lazarus 0.9.18 and indy10.2.0.1 I wrote some simple test programs with UDPClient components, and tried t run both under windows and linux. The windows version runwithout any problem, while the linux version give the error socket error 22. The linux OS used is a Debian Sarge. Have you already used the Udp components, and if so, are they working good under linux. Thanks, angman.
