Problems to install new components on Linux lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- gianclaudiooliveira · 2006-10-01 00:46 Hello, guys... I'm having problems to install a new package on Lazarus/Linux. I'm using Lazarus 0.9.16 in a Debian-BR-CDD 1.0 (based on sarge). I installed Lazarus as root. I´m trying to install UIB2 package. I install correctly the package but after rebuild, the components palette does not appears on IDE. I saw that Lazarus executable present on "/usr/lib/lazarus" has a old date. On my "~/.lazarus/bin" directory, there is a correct dated Lazarus executable but when I try to execute him, a runtime error happens. If I copy this Lazarus executable (newer) to "/usr/lib/lazarus", the same error occurs. I believe that my Lazarus is correctly installed because I can write new projects and compile him. If anyone have an idea that can solve my problem, please help me. Thank you very much!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- gianclaudiooliveira · 2006-10-01 02:29 I found solution to it... sorry for I have posted before to enough search it. The problem is: The executable thar apears in "~/.lazarus/bin" directory is the pos- rebuilt compilated executable... the result of rebuild. Always occurs runtime error when I execute him. I discovered that it is a error with cthreads. Solutions for it can be found at http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/Lazarus_Faq#Laza rus_crashes_with_runtime_error_211_after_I_installed_a_component and at http://www.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=view topic&t=1940 I solved it using one of these solutions. Thank you for paying attention. Gianclaudio Oliveira
