Lazarus & FreeBSD lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jin · 2006-07-30 06:54 Hi I compiled and installed FPC 2.0.2 out of the ports collection the other day, and today I decided I wiould try and get Lazarus working. I checked out the latest SVN and attempted to compile... Code: [Select][jin@SHODAN ~/lazarus]$ make all Error expanding embedded variable. However, whenever I try to compile I get that error. Does anybody have a solution to this? Thanks in advance. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2006-07-30 07:30 Use gmake (gnu's make) instead bsd make. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jin · 2006-07-30 13:38 Now it says it cannot find zstream. This will make the compiler output a huge amount of information about where it is searching for the files. The take a look at the detailed output of the search for zstream.pp (or .pas). And see why he can´t find the file. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2006-07-30 17:02 Instead of adding -va to the fpc.cfg, do Code: [Select]gmake clean all OPT="-va" > make.log ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jin · 2006-07-30 22:12 Well here's the log, I'm looking over it myself but if any of you guys can help me out that'd be great. This is the end snippet of the log which seems to be the problem: Code: [Select]Unitsearch: zstream.pas Searching file zstream.pas... not found Searching file ZSTREAM.PAS... not found Unitsearch: /usr/local/lib/fpc/2.0.2/units/i386-freebsd/fcl/zstream.ppu Searching file /usr/local/lib/fpc/2.0.2/units/i386-freebsd/fcl/zstream.ppu... found PPU Loading /usr/local/lib/fpc/2.0.2/units/i386-freebsd/fcl/zstream.ppu (ZSTREAM)  PPU Name: /usr/local/lib/fpc/2.0.2/units/i386-freebsd/fcl/zstream.ppu (ZSTREAM)  PPU Time: 2006/07/29 02:28:22 (ZSTREAM)  PPU Flags: 151747 (ZSTREAM)  PPU Crc: 383F559B (ZSTREAM)  PPU Crc: 0DCE619C (intfc) Fatal: Can't find unit zstream Fatal: Compilation aborted gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/home/jin/lazarus/lcl' ---------------------------------------------------------------------- felipemdc · 2006-07-30 22:52 Please, only the put the part of the log that says something about zstream unit. The parts you posted have nothing about it, and thus don´t help much. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2006-07-31 13:15 I think you snipped to much. From this piece there is no reason for the sources. I expected something line CRC changed recompiling or so. Can you publish the whole dump somewhere zipped ?. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jin · 2006-07-31 13:39 Ok, here: make.log.tar.gz ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2006-07-31 16:21 The reason for recompilation is on this line: (ZSTREAM)  Recompiling zstream, checksum changed for paszlib Normally tis will happen if a old unit is found somewhere, or a similar named file is used in the project. For you both are not the case. So I guess that something went wrong when compiling the freebsd binaries. To get this sorted, you can try the following: IIRC pazlib if part of packages/extra, so go to that dir and run gmake and copy the made .ppu and .o (somewhere in packages/extra/units) to the /usr/local/lib/fpc/2.0.2/units/i386-freebsd/fcl dir ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jin · 2006-08-01 01:51 Still a no go, and they are in the proper place. Code: [Select][root@SHODAN /usr/local/lib/fpc/2.0.2/units/i386-freebsd/fcl]# ls | grep paszlib paszlib.o paszlib.ppu [root@SHODAN /usr/local/lib/fpc/2.0.2/units/i386-freebsd/fcl]# ls | grep zstream libpzstream.a zstream.o zstream.ppu Edit: The ones in there are the ones I recompiled with the above advice. For experimentation I decided to try and grab the latest stable that is in ports, it also fails to build with paszlib errors. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2006-08-02 12:28 I'm out of options. Somebody with a freebsd sstem should try.
