Fedora 5 installation can't find libpq.so lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jtiedeman · 2006-07-27 18:52 Lazarus was working under FC4 (except that numeric data wouldn't display, just char and date). Something went sour on my HD so I reformatted and installed FC5 along with the prper verstons of fpc, etc. When I got the message "Cannot open PostgreSQL client. Is it installed (libpq.so)" I made sure I had a link to libpq.so.4.1 in /usr/lib64. When that didn't help I tried to put one in /usr/lib but got a message that the _file_ was already installed even though I couldn't see it under ls in /usr/lib. The same thinghappens with the installation in my notebook (both have Athlon 64 CPUs). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2006-07-28 08:25 do you build for 32 or for 64 bit ? What version of Laz did you install ? is libpq.so.4.1 a 64 or a 32 bit lib ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jtiedeman · 2006-07-28 11:25 All 64-bit. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2006-07-31 08:59 OK, now that I've read your message again, I think that the db clients are loaded dynamically by the SQL component itself (first I thought it was a linker problem). Why it can't find the libpq.so, you maybe can find in the source. I'm lost here (I don't use dbs with Laz)
