Lazarus as Non-Root user lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Okefenokee · 2006-06-26 06:56 Hi, I recently upgraded from Suse 10.0 to 10.1. I installed Lazarus 9.16 with all required packages, BUT it only shows in the menu (development), when logged in as root. Could this be a problem of me using a German desktop and menu layout setup as user? How do I fix it? Thanks, Jörg ---------------------------------------------------------------------- felipemdc · 2006-07-20 12:32 Just edit your menu as user and add a link to lazarus. The command line to start lazarus is: startlazarus Each distribution has a different software to edit the menu, so you will have to find it on your distro, or ask someone that knows SuSE well. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- glober · 2006-07-20 17:23 Suse has the option to use KDE or Gnome, so if you want to add an application to the menus it depends on which one you have selected. For KDE the default way is to right-click on the leftmost button in the KDE bottom menu panel (Windows Start button euivalent), select 'Menu Editor' and add your new menu entry. For Gnome it is not as simple. You should look at your Suse documentation for that.
