Nothing seems to help lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kingjotte · 2006-06-22 01:04 Hi There, is there any chance one of you guys (or gals) can give me a walktrough for the installation proces in debian? preferably starting from the point where debian has just been installed or even better, from the point where i am now: i can start the ide, but nothing compiles, make clean all does not work either. I tried the installation instructions in the wiki, first by compiling from cvs, that didn't work, it did not compile Then I tried by downloading the rpm's and converting them with alien. that seemed to work the second time i tried, but now it is broken again, don't know why, i only rebooted the system, and now i get the message that unit glib is missing (but libglib is installed :-s ) And after that, i have some serious problems with the unit sqldb, the components are showing in the component list, but when i drop one onto a form i get the error unit sqldb is missing. I hope someone is capable and willing to help me, thanks very much in advance, Kingjotte ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RudieD · 2006-06-22 19:31 Try the Documentation (Wikki) on the left  http://wiki.lazarus.freepas cal.org/index.php/Installing_Lazarus#Installing_Lazarus_under_Debian_G NU.2FLinux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kingjotte · 2006-06-22 22:20 Quote from: "RudieD"Try the Documentation (Wikki) on the left  http:// wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/Installing_Lazarus#Installing_La zarus_under_Debian_GNU.2FLinux I tried that already, as i stated in my first post. the dpkg -r didn't work for me though, i tried dpkg -r fpc and stuff, but it reported an error. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- flaxeater · 2006-06-26 03:21 Try (as I did for ubuntu) alien -c XXX.rpm dpkg -i XXX.deb For each of the RPMs you download. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kingjotte · 2006-06-26 10:40 Quote from: "flaxeater"Try (as I did for ubuntu) alien -c XXX.rpm dpkg -i XXX.deb For each of the RPMs you download. been there, done that, same shit, different day. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- felipemdc · 2006-06-26 13:38 Ok, maybe you should give up the RPM and go for other install options. Options to install Free Pascal 1st idea: Download Free Pascal 2.0.0 Debian packages here: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=2174 2nd Idea: Download the tar archive for 2.0.2 compiler: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=2174 Options to Install Lazarus: 1 - Download lazarus binary tar archive and install it: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=89339 Look for "Lazarus Zip / GZip" 2 - Download Lazarus source code and compile it (with "make clean all"). Be careful that you will need Free Pascal 2.0.2 to do this. You can download Lazarus source code from subversion. There are instructions on the Wiki. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kingjotte · 2006-06-26 15:14 now, that's something that might prove usefull. I can't test it right now, because my linux machine is not where i am for the next couple of weeks. I'll certainly try this when i return from holiday
