Menu Shortcuts lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Bart · 2006-06-14 13:37 Hi, This might be standard linux behaviour, but I don't know (being a newbie). Using Lazarus 0.9.16 I have a form with a mainmenu The menu-items have shortcuts   Ctrl+F   Alt+F   Ctrl+Alt+F   Ctrl+Shift+F If i have a form without any editing components these shortcuts do work. If I add some editor on the form (TEdit, TMemo, TSynMemo) and give it focus, the shortcuts do not work. When a TMemo or TEdit has focus, none of the shortcuts work. When a SynMemo has focus Ctrl+F and Actr+Shif+F do not work, whereas Alt+F and Ctrl+Alt+F do work (I have all KeyStrokes removed from the SynMemo) If I run the same project under Windows, all shortcuts work, no matter what component has the focus at that moment. I use SuSe linux 10.0 with KDE Maybe Ctrl+F has some standard keystroke binding in linux, I do not know. (I figured out why Ctrl+F10 did not work ...) I use menu shortcuts quite often, most of them in a standard way (Ctrl+S = save (file); Ctrl+F = find; Ctrl+N = new; Ctrl+B = bold etc.) and  I can hardly believe that this cannot be done under linux. I know that the app "see" the keystrokes, I can catch them if I set KeyPreview of the main form to true and us the OnKeyDown event, but that seems to be a rather silly way to implement menu-shortcuts, that are supposed to be implemented already.... Can anyone shed some light on this subject?? Thanx, Bart
