compile error lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- aydinbey · 2006-04-08 20:26 Hi. İ installed lazarus 0.9.14 beta. I made a simple project. After I compiled  project, it is giving "Fatal: can't find unit interfaces". And it is giving each sample project in lazarus examples. is there a missing library or package? thanks... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jzombi · 2006-04-09 10:58 Probably you have chosen a widgetset, wich is not compiled yet. What is the LCL widget type in the project/compiler options menu? You should try with gtk, that's the default. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- aydinbey · 2006-04-09 20:00 thank you for your answer. Yes, as you say in Project/compiler options menu LCL widget type is default gtk. There is a  something that i don't understand. This error is giving all of projects. LCL package installed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2006-04-10 12:18 did you install laz over an older version ? Do you have more than one version of fpc installed ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jzombi · 2006-04-10 12:23 Because all of the projects with a form use the widgetset, and the interfaces unit. In the Compiler Options, under the "Other Sources" there is an editbox, probably that's empty. There should be the following text: "$(LazarusDir)/lcl/;$(LazarusDir)/lcl/interfaces/$(LCLWidgetType)/". You should check that the LCL widgets are in the correct path too. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2006-04-10 12:32 Never do that. Point only to the compiled unit dirs. Including LCL sources directly in your project wil cause all kinds of errors. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jzombi · 2006-04-10 12:45 "You should check that the LCL widgets are in the correct path too." I doesn't mean including the LCL directly in the project. I meant that the compiled LCL units should be in the correct place ($(LazarusDir)/lcl/;$(LazarusDir)/lcl/interfaces/$(LCLWidgetType)/), so the compiler can find it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2006-04-10 12:51 Thats what I meant. Never point to the sources if you have compiled the LCL with your_widgetset, point to the units dir: lcl/units/$fpctarget/your_widgetset ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2006-04-10 13:03 I was wrong, those files are used only by the IDE, and the compiled widgetset is under the lcl/units/$fpctarget/your_widgetset, sorry ---------------------------------------------------------------------- aydinbey · 2006-04-10 17:12 Hi Marc. "did you install laz over an older version " No I didn't. "Do you have more than one version of fpc installed? No, only 2.0.1 version. Jzombi, I looked there. And it has "$(LazarusDir)/lcl/;$(LazarusDir)/lcl/interfaces/$(LCLWidgetType)/". I think, it is true. Marc, that is ($(LazarusDir)/lcl/;$(LazarusDir)/lcl/interfaces/$(LCLWidgetType)/) section must be lcl/units/$fpctarget/your_widgetset. if so, I will try it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jzombi · 2006-04-10 20:02 Hi! No, that' s right there. I was wrong. Those are the widgetsets sources, and the IDE needs that. Probably you should try to put the "lcl/units/$fpctarget/your_widgetset" (exactly "$(LazarusDir)/lcl/units/$fpctarget/$LCLWidgetType") in the Other Unit Files section. But it's just a tip... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2006-04-11 06:55 If you installed the binary package of Lazarus 0.9.14, you should install fpc 2.0.2 too. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2006-04-11 09:55 Quote from: "jzombi"Hi! No, that' s right there. I was wrong. Those are the widgetsets sources, and the IDE needs that. You're right. I was mixing things up. "$(LazarusDir)/lcl/;$(LazarusDir)/lcl/interfaces/$(LCLWidgetType)/" needs to be in other sources. Indeed the IDE needs those. (I mixed them with other units) Quote Probably you should try to put the "lcl/units/$fpctarget/your_widgetset" (exactly "$(LazarusDir)/lcl/units/$fpctarget/$LCLWidgetType") in the Other Unit Files section. But it's just a tip... Other units normally can stay empty. But as Vincent noticed. laz 0.9.14 is compiled with fpc 2.0.2. So if you are using 2.0.1 that that explains the "Fatal: can't find unit interfaces". ---------------------------------------------------------------------- aydinbey · 2006-04-11 18:41 thank you for your answers. This evening, i installed fpc 2.0.2 that you say. Fpc source directory is /home/ademirel/fpcsrc/fpc/. I think it is true. Because it did not give error. And then I set Other Sources section as "$(LazarusDir)/lcl/interfaces/$(LCLWidgetType)/" in Compiler options. But it still giving same error. There was not this error before 0.9.14 beta version. I don't understand anything. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2006-04-12 09:50 did you uninstall/remove 2.0.1 ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- aydinbey · 2006-04-12 18:36 yes i did marc. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- aydinbey · 2006-04-12 18:52 I found a link for this problem. http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/in dex.php/Lazarus_Faq#.22Cannot_find_Unit_interfaces.22._How_can_I_solve _this.3F May be it works. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- aydinbey · 2006-04-14 19:39 Yes, problem was solved. I installed lazarus again with fpc 2.0.2. And it works. I was very happy. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- matthijs · 2006-04-15 14:17 Now lazarus works with latest fpc snapshot as well. So if you go to lazarus snapshot or one of the mirrors, you can download fpc snapshot from 20060415 . You can make Lazarus with this version. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- aydinbey · 2006-04-15 19:19 thank you. but link is not working.
