Lazarus on gentoo: libsmooth.so not found lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Rubinstein · 2006-03-29 04:21 Hello all from a new user here I'm using the latest SVN version of Lazarus with FPC 2.0.2 and so far everything seems to work fine (except some well known common problems). Just curious: what does this warning mean I see on my (gnome-) terminal when I start Lazarus: Code: [Select]Gtk-WARNING **: Ladbares Modul in Module-Pfad: "libsmooth.so" kann nicht gefunden werden For non german readers: loadable module in module-path: "libsmooth.so" can't be found. It's definitely in /usr/lib (sym-link): lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root 43 25. Mär 18:10 /usr/lib/libsmooth.so -> /usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.4.0/engines/libsmooth.so I googled for it but couldn't find even a single report. So am I really the only one? Or do you all just ignore it, since it's only a warning? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2006-03-29 12:58 lazarus uses GTK1 by default, it looks like yours is pointing to GTK2. This looks like something of your distro, afaik we don't use libsmooth ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Rubinstein · 2006-03-29 16:17 Lazarus compiled with GTK2 looks seriously broken, that's why I use Lazarus compiled with GTK1. That's really too bad, btw: truetype editor fonts look so much better... Fortunately, compiling some examples with GTK2 seems to work nicely. Most parts of my distro are build with GTK2 and so does gnome-terminal, but I never saw this warning before. EDIT I'm not using gentoo ebuilds for Lazarus and FPC, btw... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Rubinstein · 2006-03-29 17:31 Got it! Was a gtk theme bug, got the hint here (on bottom of the thread): http://www.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtop ic&t=1787 Switching to another gnome theme solved it (broken theme was SmoothGnome btw). EDIT Actually, it has nothing to do with Lazarus (except it's a gtk1 app) and even is no bug. My son explained to me what's going on here, but that would be too much OT for this forum...
