Unable to rebuild lazarus(linux): make[1]*** [ide] Error 217 lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- vop · 2006-03-28 09:03 Hi folks After successfully installing lazarus under linux ( OpenSuse 10.0) which took a time, because I had to read a lot of about gtk-devel Packages and so on, I now come to my next problem. I am not able to rebuild lazarus. I always get the following error: make[1]: *** [ide] Error 217 I first saw that message after I tried to install the lnetpackage I have lazarus 0.9.13 beta on a OpenSuse 10.0 linux  system Has someone an idea? Thanks for helping, vop ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2006-03-29 12:54 can you post more lines before this message ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- vop · 2006-03-30 11:06 Hi Marc Thank you for trying to help. Here come the messages: "Lazarus-Quelltext aufräumen" completed "LCL erstellen" completed "Synedit erstellen" completed "Codetools erstellen" completed "Paketregistrierung erstellen" completed "IDE-Schnittstellen erstellen" completed "JIT-Formular erstellen" completed make[1]: *** [ide] Error 217 As you can see I use the german lazarus. If you want I will translate the messages for you. Thanks vop ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Rubinstein · 2006-03-30 16:14 What have you checked in Werkzeuge -> Configure "Build Lazarus"? That's what I do when I rebuild Lazarus: Alles säubern: check Mit Paketen: uncheck Then, from "LCL erstellen" down to (and including) "IDE neu erstellen" set to "Clean+build" The last 2 entries don't seem to be significant. The reason why I mentioned this is because certain combinations of these settings don't seem to work. If I use the above settings for instance but set "IDE Schnittstellen erstellen" to None, "Lazarus erstellen" would result in Code: [Select]/home/pi/lazarus/ide/main.pp(115,71) Fatal: Can't find unit AllIDEIntf Btw, this leaves the free choices of these settings of doubtable worth... I don't know whether this solves your problem, at least something you could check and try. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- vop · 2006-03-31 09:23 Thank you Rubinstein It seems to go in the right direction. If I change the build options in particular the "LCL Schnittstelle" from gtk to qt for example then I get another error messages here: make [2]: *** [../../units/i386-linux/qt] Error 1 ( Sounds to me like: No qt-interface found ) So my error has something to do with gtk (because it appers when I use gtk interface), I think. But what can I do to solve this problem? Has anybody an idea? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2006-03-31 11:07 maybe the GTK Theme? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- vop · 2006-03-31 13:29 Quote from: "Anonymous"maybe the GTK Theme? which means in detail what? Can you explain more? Thank vop ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2006-03-31 14:35 you  are using KDE? GTK-Themes http://developer.gnome.org/arch/gtk/themes.html some of the Themes can cause problems ie. aqua light blue gives me Gdk-ERROR **: BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)   serial 6171 error_code 11 request_code 53 minor_code 0 and Lazarus closes btw are the Paths set right (Environment-Environment options)? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- vop · 2006-04-03 08:03 Hmm. I got it running, so far. Means: I am able to rebuild lazarus without errors. After rebuildung lazarus the program closes itself (no restart). My problem is now: Installing packages has no effects for the components panel. When I install DCPlazarus for example the expected Components do not appear in the components panel. Has anybody a hint? vop ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2006-04-04 00:15 You are probalbly running the wrong lazarus executable. Once you rebuild lazarus (especially when adding components) the executable you want is now ~/.lazarus/bin/lazarus . I usually create a desktop shortcut for this executable. That's it! Things can be so easy, if you understand them! Thank you very much to every helper! vop
