What is the Best Linux Distro for Lazarus lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- FeeFe · 2006-03-20 05:32 Hi What is the Best Linux Distro for Lazarus.. I use puppy linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2006-03-20 18:56 I'm having trouble with SUSE 10.0 but all installed OK.  Biggest issues are the GTK font and losing functions in the IDE (like show hints in the toolbar). John ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2006-03-20 19:54 I don't have any problems with Lazarus on SuSE 10.0 At least none that could be blamed on the distro ;-) (Except that gtk+-dev naming problem when installing with Yast, which can be safely ignored) Problems with fonts, hints? Which desktop environment / WM are you using? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- sqlpython · 2006-05-07 05:42 I installed on Xandros 3 ..a Debian distro..gtk was installed.. Having some issues adding database packages..mysql4laz.lpk etc.. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- felipemdc · 2006-05-07 12:50 It should work on all distros. Possible problems are: 1 - No debian packages yet, so installing on debian based distro is slightly more complex and takes more time. 2 - Some distros have very problematic Gtk 1 Themes. Personally it worked very well on my Mandrake. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- sqlpython · 2006-05-07 16:23 I made a deb package of v. 9.11 that installed every time and comes up running. Should I Upload it somewhere? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- felipemdc · 2006-05-08 10:41 Quote from: "sqlpython"I made a deb package of v. 9.11 that installed every time and comes up running. Should I Upload it somewhere? Did you use alien to convert the package or you really wrote the scripts necessary to create a package? What we need are the scripts. If you can improve the current ones and make them work it would be very appreciated =) They are located at: lazarus/packager on your local Lazarus copy
