Problem with Mandriva 2006 lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ivan_p · 2006-03-05 14:41 Greetings, I began recently with Mandrake 2005 and am trying to install Lazarus-0.912.0, From its Web descarge the three packages of installation fpc-2.0.2-0.i586.rpm fpc-src-2.0.2-0.i386.rpm lazarus-0.9.12-0.i386.rpm Both first they were executed without problems, nevertheless when arriving at third gives back the error message to me error: Failed dependencies:       gdk-pixbuf-devel is needed by lazarus-0.9.12-0       gtk+-devel is needed by lazarus-0.9.12-0 I decided to unload gtk+-devel-2.6.1-2, libgdk- pixbuf2-devel-0.22.0-2mdk.i586.rpm and atk-devel1.11.2-1.2.ppc nevertheless are not executed either and they indicate failure to me dependencies. On the other hand it consists to me that I have previously installed. gtk+2.0-2.6.4-2mdk, libgtk+1.2-1.2.10-41mdk, libgtk+2.0_0-2.6.4-2mdk libgtk+-x11-2.0_0-2.6.4-2mdk gdk-pixbuf-loaders-0.22.0-8mdk libgdk_pixbuf2.0_0-2.6.4-2mdk libgdk-pixbuf2-0.22.0-8mdk libgdk-pixbuf-gnomecanvas1-0.22.0-8mdk although it also installs all libgnome which they lowered with the update of the system, appears to me the following message when I tried to install libgdk-pixbuf2-devel manually I feel it, are not possible to be selected the following packages: libgdk-pixbuf2-devel-0.22.0-8.2.20060mdk.i586  (because devel(libgnome) was not satisfied)  He is something of mutual incompatibility between graphical bookstores that needs a new reinstalación of the GTK?, in this case that archives?. I would like to know how to know if somebody has been more with this case. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2006-03-06 12:25 first you can have installed both gtk1 and gtk2. second, you can only install devel packages of the exact same version as the normal package (libgdk-pixbuf2-0.22.0-8mdk is not the same version as libgdk-pixbuf2-devel-0.22.0-8.2.20060mdk.i586). to check if you have the devel packages installed, look in your /usr/lib dir to see if an symlink exist  libgtk.so -> libgtk-1.2.so.0.x.y ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2006-03-26 16:21 Lazarus for Mandrake not Exist :| ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2006-03-30 15:25 :x  I'v been trying for days now to get Lazarus up and running in Mandriva 2006. Everytime I try to install an RPM to satisfy the dependencies, another dependency error pops up. ( in order to install X you need Y, but in order to install Y you need Z, and on and on and on.)Until I got a stupid "Unsatisfied Ident" error while installing the liborbit2 devel package ( which was the same version as the liborbit, and orbit packages already installed ). Urpmi is no help either. It's crap like this that will prevent Linux from ever catching up with windows in term of usability ( Just venting) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Rubinstein · 2006-03-30 16:32 Quote from: "Anonymous" (snip the joy of circular dependencies with RPM based distros) It's crap like this that will prevent Linux from ever catching up with windows in term of usability ( Just venting) It's crap like this what pulled me into a source based distro (gentoo). But even on gentoo the combination FPC + Lazarus as ebuilds (gentoo's source based "packages") never worked for me. Fortunately, building both directly from sources is easy like reading a README file. But this is surely not the right place to discuss (dis)advantages of certain distros... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2006-03-30 22:44 I am running Lazarus on Mandriva 2006 from the rpm's without any difficulty. I have installed from the MCC: libgdk_pixbuf2.0_0-devel-2.8.3-4.2.20060mdk libgdk_pixbuf2-devel-0.22.0-8.2.20060mdk and also (but I am not sure those are required) libgtk+1.2-devel-1.4.2-13mdk lbgtk+2.0_0-devel-1.2.10-41mdk Hope this can help Jean-Marc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- arcanjoebc · 2006-04-03 00:14 Jean-Marc How installed you the packages??? Where do you found they??? I use the Mandriva Linux Free 2006 and I do not has that packages in the CD's. Do you can help me??? Everaldo from Tramandaí - RS - Brazil ---------------------------------------------------------------------- WibblyTim · 2006-04-04 13:38 I think that I can see the problem arcanjoebc. AKAIK Mandriva Free 2006 does not come with the development libraries you need to install Lazarus. You will need to buy the boxed version from Mandriva. The alternative is to download a previous version of Mandriva, for example Mandrake 10.1 DVD that does have the devel libraries you need. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- barko · 2006-04-04 13:39 Type this in a console as root: Code: [Select]urpmi.addmedia contrib rsync://mirrors.usc.edu/mandrakel inux/official/2006.0/i586/media/contrib with media_info/hdlist.cz or visit this site: easy urpmi ---------------------------------------------------------------------- WibblyTim · 2006-04-04 13:47 Quote from: "barko"Type this in a console as root: Code: [Select]urpmi.addmedia contrib rsync://mirrors.usc.edu/mandrakel inux/official/2006.0/i586/media/contrib with media_info/hdlist.cz or visit this site: easy urpmi Yup, that's the other way!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2006-04-24 18:32 Hi, try http://easyurpmi.zarb.org/ and follow the instruction, I have mandriva 2006 and I'm using lazarus, it's are working fine (except lazreport)
