Error LCL interface for QT lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jirka · 2006-01-24 21:57 Code: [Select] Linking ../lazarus /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -llzqt lazarus.pp(113,1) Error: Error while linking make[2]: *** [lazarus] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/jirka/lazarus/ide' make[1]: *** [ide] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/jirka/lazarus/ide' make: *** [ide] Error 2 What library is missing ? Jirka ---------------------------------------------------------------------- felipemdc · 2006-01-24 22:46 The Qt interface is based on a c++ library that exports Qt functions in a way Free Pascal can understand. You can find the source code for the library on: lcl/interfaces/qt/src That is the library that is missing =) And it needs to be compiled Be warned that the Qt interface is not ready to develop applications yet. It needs a lot of work before it reachs a usable state. Also, that library is a wrapper around Qt 1.2 if I´m not mistaken, and it will be substitute by newer Qt3 or Qt4 bindings if work on the Widgetset is done. I recommend using Gtk1 or Gtk2 on Unixes. Gnome also works, but the library itself is very old, so Gtk should be the best option. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- felipemdc · 2006-01-25 16:54 Today I added partial support for TForm and TButton on the qt widgetset. Now it uses qt4, and a single .so file will have to be placed in order to activate the widgetset. No need for development packages. Also only that single .so file needs to be added for deployment. I will send a patch soon, so except very basic Qt4 support in 1 week. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Guest · 2006-02-05 19:04 hi, i've got the same error but i didn't understand how to solve it..?! so what shall i do exactly..? ciao ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2006-02-05 19:42 I just tried this way in your wiki, also works fine: ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// ///////// From sourceforge repository, download latest fpc, fpclib and lazarus releases; follow links from http://lazarus.freepascal.org, click the "downloads" button on the left, then click on "binaries" then "linux" then "Current Lazarus RPM". This will bring you to     http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=89339 then download the following files (or more recent, if available)     * fpc-1.9.5-041001.i386.rpm     * fpcsrc-1.9.5-041001.i386.rpm     * lazarus-0.9.2.2-fpc_1.9.5_041001.i386.rpm cd to the directory where these files are stored, then become root (su) and type: alien fpc*     //this will convert both the fpc and fpcsrc files to debian format alien laz* then use kpackage or a similar utility to install the fpc, fpcsrc and lazarus **.rpm.deb files. You need to produce a configuration file, which will reside in /etc/fpc.cfg. Still as root, cd to the main fpc directory /usr/lib/fpc/1.9.5 and then type sh ./samplecfg /usr/lib/fpc/1.9.5 /etc Check the contents of your new configuration file (cat /etc/fpc.cfg) and make any changes you want using vi or another text editor. You need to install the development packages of the GTK and pixbuf libraries, so apt-get install libgtk2.0-dev apt-get install libgdk-pixbuf-dev Then you should be ready to start programming! ciao ---------------------------------------------------------------------- felipemdc · 2006-02-06 10:16 Quotei've got the same error but i didn't understand how to solve it..?! so what shall i do exactly..? I think that the Lazarus team hasn´t yet applied the patch that makes the Qt interface work .... basically you need to wait for them to apply the patch. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- felipemdc · 2006-02-18 03:28 Ok, now the patch was applied, so Qt 4 widgetset works =) (Well, TForm, TButton, TMemo and TCanvas work rssss the rest needs to be implemented) More information here: wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/Qt_Interface ---------------------------------------------------------------------- joined · 2006-02-20 06:36 Will the Qt4 port works under Win32? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- felipemdc · 2006-02-20 11:13 Yes, but at the moment there is no pre-compiled binding for Windows. You need to compile your own binding (instructions for this on the wiki). However, I recommend using the native widgetset for windows =) This is the bigest advantage of Lazarus: native widgetsets. One more interresting place where it will work in the future is: Linux-powered PDAs and Smartphones. There Qtopia is the native widgetset.
