Still an installation issue lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- j list · 2005-10-23 14:51 Hi, I'm new to fp/lazarus. I installed from the rpm files using alien (I'm using Kubuntu.) Lazarus started fine. When building an empty project, I got an error "can not find unit glib." Then I created a \etc\fpc.cfg and put these 3 lines in it: -Fu/usr/lib/fpc/$fpcversion/units/$fpctarget -Fu/usr/lib/fpc/$fpcversion/units/$fpctarget/* -Fu/usr/lib/fpc/$fpcversion/units/$fpctarget/rtl Then the empty project compiled and ran fine. Then I added a button in the form, and double click on the button to open its event handler, I got an error: "The component editor of "TDefaultComponentEditor" has created the error: 'Unable to find method. Plz fix the error shown in the message window.'" The message windows says: "/usr/lib/lazarus/lcl/lclclasses.pp (32,3) Error: unit nout found: Classes" So, there are more settings needed to set the paths? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2005-10-23 15:03 Did you install the fpc sources, i.e. the fpcsrc rpm? If so, check that the path to the fpc sources is set correctly in the Environment Options, Files tab. I think alienated rpms forget their dependencies....
