Latest rpm 0.9.1 doesn`t install with Suse 9.2 lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Kreon · 2005-10-11 20:17 missing gtk+ devel, I don`t find it - all gtk and devels, coming with Suse 9.2, are installed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- theo · 2005-10-11 22:18 Same problem here (SuSE 9.0) . But you can compile it from source and it works like a charm. Congratulations to the team! 0.9.10 is the best lazarus ever! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2005-10-12 08:38 Its reported in another post (can't find it) But there was noted that some distros install the extra (devel) libs not in the usual dirs like /usr/lib or /usr/local/lib Try to find where the devel libs were installed and add that path to your fpc.cfg winth the option -Fl ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Kreon · 2005-10-12 12:29 Id would be nice, to have a working rpm for suse 9.2 ....... I am not experiend to compile, the src.rpm doesn`t rebuild, because of missing gtk libs, bat I have all installed, i could get for Suse 9.2. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Kreon · 2005-10-12 13:56 I get the following errors: Linking ../lazarus /opt/gnome/lib//libgtk.so: undefined reference to `__strcpy_chk@GLIBC_2.3.4' /opt/gnome/lib//libgdk.so: undefined reference to `__fprintf_chk@GLIBC_2.3.4' /opt/gnome/lib//libgdk.so: undefined reference to `__strcat_chk@GLIBC_2.3.4' /opt/gnome/lib//libgdk.so: undefined reference to `__strncat_chk@GLIBC_2.3.4' /opt/gnome/lib//libgdk.so: undefined reference to `__strncpy_chk@GLIBC_2.3.4' /opt/gnome/lib//libgdk.so: undefined reference to `__sprintf_chk@GLIBC_2.3.4' lazarus.pp(103,1) Error: Error while linking make[2]: *** [lazarus] Fehler 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/packages/BUILD/lazarus-0.9.10/lazarus/ide' make[1]: *** [ide] Fehler 2 make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/packages/BUILD/lazarus-0.9.10/lazarus/ide' make: *** [ide] Fehler 2 error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.16794 (%build) What can I do? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2005-10-12 16:17 do you have glibc 2.3.4 ? Went the instalation of the gtk libs OK (you don't force the installation, did you ?) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Kreon · 2005-10-12 16:48 Yes, there is an older release of glibc installed. Because I have the Suse Release 10 to update my system, I found there glibc 2.3.5, but I can't install this package, because there are more then 1500 conflicts with the installed system 9.2. I hope, there is an easyer way to get lazarus working. The reason, I want to solve the problem is: I am teaching with Delphi and Win2k and want to change the whole school enviroment to Suse Linux. So far, I can get rpms to install with Yast, I can manage my Linux, otherwise I have problems ....... The errors from my last posting were the only ones. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2005-10-13 12:28 Install an older version of gtk compatible with your glibc For a suse 9.2 see for instance http://rpmfind.net//linux/RPM/suse/9.2 /i386/suse/i586/gtk-1.2.10-882.1.i586.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Kreon · 2005-10-14 16:45 With the new gtk installation I could compile the src rpm. Bat Yast or Kpackage wouldn't install. With rpm i ..... nodepence I installed the new rpm and it is working. Thanks reon
