It is just a search screen. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- matthijs · 2005-09-28 08:35 Quote from: "Vincent"What postings? It is just a search screen. Aargh! I copied the link of the search results, but it does not work like I expected. All right, so just enter suse in the keywords and you will see some postings with regard to installing Lazarus on a SuSE-box. Sorry, about the not so good link. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2005-10-12 17:02 Has anyone figured out how to solve this problem... I havn't found any post on this subject... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2005-10-13 14:00 aaaaahhhhhhh just found out today that on suse the gtk+ package is named "gtk" and not "gtk+" like other distros Then if you are really sure that you have all the packages, you can force (or skip dependency checking) the lazarus rpm: rpm -i lazarus-0.9.9-20050926.rpm --nodeps ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2005-11-02 16:31 Quote from: "Marc"aaaaahhhhhhh just found out today that on suse the gtk+ package is named "gtk" and not "gtk+" like other distros Then if you are really sure that you have all the packages, you can force (or skip dependency checking) the lazarus rpm: rpm -i lazarus-0.9.9-20050926.rpm --nodeps Thanks for the tip ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2005-12-29 08:58 The problem with this solution (--nodeps) is, that after that you don't get apt-get to work. It is always proposing to deinstall lazarus to clear the dependencies (--fix broken). If you don't you can not run a normal dist-upgrade. So there must be another way to deal with the well known problem that SuSE is handling gtk-files while lazarus is demanding gtk+ Any reason not to take care of this in the packages? I appreaciate any help in this, as I'm trying to install lazarus on SuSE 9.3 now for two days. The hints in the forum are *not* a reliable solution. I have altered the .SPEC file of the source package. gtk1,2 and development versions are needed instead of gtk+-dev. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2005-12-30 14:23 Thanks a lot. That helped! Roland
