Problems to run Lazarus under Kubuntu 5.04 lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- new user · 2005-09-18 00:48 Hi @all, I got the rpm from sourceforge.net 0.98  with fpc 2 make with alien -d a deb-packag and then installed with alien -i without any problems. But I am not able to set in the option the path to fpc source "verzeichnis" what is going wrong Thanks for any advice karl ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2005-09-19 07:28 Did you install the fpcsrc rpm (after alienating it)? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2005-09-20 00:30 No I´ve not installed the compiler after lazarus. This was one package lazarus 0.98  with fpc 2.0 included, and this complete package I anlienated. Any advice Karl ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2005-09-20 06:08 Then I wonder where you got the package from and if it includes the sources of the fpc units. Normally a lazarus install consist of 3 rpm's: fpc, fpcsrc and lazarus. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2005-10-19 21:46 which order to follow? Is it correct? -> #sudo alien -i fpc_2.0.1.rpm #sudo alien -i fpcsrc_2.0.1.rpm #sudo alien -i lazarus_0.9.10.rpm The end? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2005-10-20 07:19 Read Installing Lazarus in the wiki for details. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2005-10-21 09:22 Great! it work, but only with snapshot (33Mb)... why? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2005-10-21 09:53 I have no idea, why it doesn't work? What goes wrong if you use the rpms from the release? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2005-10-21 11:09 following the procedure it seem to install all ok, but there isn't any path as /usr/lib/fpc/2.0.0 and there isn't (in the menu) the Lazarus' icon. (The second thing [Lazarus' icon] there isn't also with 7Mb snapshot. It work only with fpc 2.1.1 snapshot + 33Mb lazarus 0.9.11 snapshot... (but it rocks! :p) I don't understand... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2005-10-21 12:08 fpc-2.0.1 should create files under /usr/lib/fpc/2.0.1. What 7MB snapshot are you talking about? The only things close are the lazarus source snapshots ... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2005-10-21 14:02 fpc (downloaded here: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?gro up_id=89339&package_id=93718&release_id=361642) didn't create anything in /usr/lib/ but snapshot of 2.1.1 has created /usr/lib/fpc/... I don't know. (I used the same procedure) About Lazarus snapshot I think that I am in error... I rechecked the rpm and it seem to be source. I'm sorry ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2005-10-21 14:18 These are source rpms, you have to build them yourself to create installable rpms, I am not sure how to do that and I don't know if alien supports source rpms. The equivalent of snapshot rpms in the release are these files: http:/ /sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=89339&package_id=93718 &release_id=361635 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2005-10-21 14:36 Bookmarked! Thank you! Linux Lazarus really rocks Bye and Thank you again!
