Installing on Mepis lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- derox · 2005-04-22 12:28 Can someone tell me how to get Lazaruz up and running on SimplyMepis? I've tried the script for n00bs, and it completes, but even though I can't find lazarus anywhere on my machine.... Please help, my future depends on it... (hmm, thats questionable :-D) - Regards ---------------------------------------------------------------------- arwen · 2005-04-22 14:43 Are you using Mepis as Live CD or have installed it ? Try this URL : http://lazarus-ccr.sourceforge.net/kb/index.php/Installing_Lazarus and download Lazarus and FreePascal from : http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=89339 Have a good lucky P.S. On Fedora Core 3 it work fine. Exsume form my bad english. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- derox · 2005-04-24 17:10 ok, think I've installed it now... But offcourse there's more trouble: When I start up the program my screen flickers red and yellow - blink blink blink and so on... it stops when the splashscreen dissappears. now when i hit F9, I get this error message: Quote /tmp/project1.lpr(1,1) Fatal: Can't find unit glib AHRG! *SCREAMING LIKE A MANIAC!!* ---------------------------------------------------------------------- derox · 2005-04-25 09:52 don't make me go back to windows   ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2005-04-26 00:02 I'm not sure if this is correct, but I'm sure someone will correct me if it's not. Run 'updatedb' as root (it'll take a few minutes), then 'slocate glib.ppu' to tell you what files contain that string and where they are. You should make sure that the path to glib.ppu is listed in the /etc/fpc.cfg file. For example, the location of the file on my system is: /usr/local/lib/fpc/1.9.8/units/i386-linux/gtk/glib.ppu My /etc/fpc.cfg file has these lines included: -Fu/usr/local/lib/fpc/1.9.8/units/$fpctarget -Fu/usr/local/lib/fpc/1.9.8/units/$fpctarget/* -Fu/usr/local/lib/fpc/1.9.8/units/$fpctarget/rtl But these lines should already have been added when you installed fpc :?. Anyway hope this helps. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2005-04-26 13:19 Also make sure compiler and compiled units match, so don't try to use a 1.9.9 compiler with 1.9.8 compiled units. Therefore it is safer to use: -Fu/usr/local/lib/fpc/$fpcversion/units/$fpctarget ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2005-05-11 08:16 After installing wine & Delphi 7 in SimplyMepis 3.3, I have also installed Lazarus 1.9.8 as follows ======================= 1) download files (ex. version 1.9. fpc-....i386.rpm fpcsrc-...i386.rpm lazarus-...i386.rpm 2) convert .rpm to .deb (as root) alien -k -c fpc* alien -k -c laz* then install the deb-files (Hereafter Lazarus is automatically in the K-menu) 3) produce a configuration file (as root) cd /usr/lib/fpc/1.9.8 sh ./samplecfg /usr/lib/fpc/1.9.8 /etc 4) Edit file fpc.cfg in the folder /etc (if there are missing slashes for paths then correct it, for ex.  Fuusr ==> Fu/usr  Frusr ==> Fr/usr  ) 5) install packages apt-get install libgtk2.0-dev apt-get install libgdk-pixbuf-dev 6)start lazarus for programming. ================================ Maybe this can help you ! Regards ---------------------------------------------------------------------- derox · 2005-05-15 23:38 Awsome, thanks a lot   I will try this wery soon! Thanks again :-)
