Can't install Lazarus in Mandrake 10.0 lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The ZipGenius Team · 2005-03-15 17:41 Hello. I am a new Linux user and I am trying to install Lazarus in Mandrake 10.0. I downloaded the three required RPMs, plus the "devel" library required by FPC setup. I installed them in the following order by double-clicking on them: 1) fpcsrc-1.9.8-050225.i386.rpm (rpm reported "all installed" ) 2) fpc-1.9.8-0.i586.rpm (no message appeared at the end of process, so I think setup went fine) 3) the "devel" library (no messssage appeared at the end of process) 4) lazarus-0.9.6-fpc_1.9.8_0.i386.rpm: setup stops with a message (in italian, in my case) stating that the condition fpsrc>=1.9.8-0 is not satisfied. What should I do? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nightrider · 2005-03-16 00:35 Hi Mateo! Finally you try Lazarus! I have a step-by-step installation that works in Mandrake 10.1... Or almost as you can see in my post... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2005-03-16 06:59 I am banging my head on this... Moreover I am working on just 1 HD because the other one is dying (see my signature in my forum at http://forum.zipgenius.it ), and MDK is installed in VirtualPC: that is forcing me to make a large amount of space in order to get MDK working. Where is your setup guide? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2005-03-16 23:44 The credit of the explanation belong to Mr. Michael Van Canneyt. A belgium guy. He has been patient... Here is the path: Go to http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group id=89339 As root download: fpc-1.9.8-0.i586.rpm fpcsrc-1.9.8-050225.i386.rpm lazarus-0.9.6-fpc_1.9.8_0.i386.rpm (The wizard who give me the formula suggest) Go to the directory /usr/local/src and install them in that order: rpm -i fpc-1.9.8-0.i586.rpm rpm -i fpsrc-1.9.8-050225.i386.rpm rpm -i lazarus-0.9.6-fpc_1.9.8_0.i386.rpm Lately the already mentioned wizard tell to use "-nodeps" in the last "rpm" because there was an error when I run the last "rpm" under Mandrake 10.1. The last "rpm" syntax: rpm -i -nodeps lazarus-0.9.6-fpc_1.9.8_0.i386.rpm Then, everything's alright. There are only little problem: I can't link edit my programs. But I already report this problem int his forum and I expect that people will solve it. I saw another explanations to install Lazarus. But they are tooooo long and complex. I almost gave up when read them! greetings old friend And thanks to Michael again!
