Lazarus won't run on SuSE 9.2 AMD64 platform lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Neo · 2004-11-23 21:47 I downloaded the RPM version of FPC and Lazarus. FPC installs correctly and when I test the installation it gives no dependancy warnings. But when I try to install the Lazarus rpm file it complains about a file named libgdk_pixbuf.so.2 and another one I unfortnuately forgot and I'm not in front of my linux box right now. I looked on the hard disk for this libgdk_pixbuf.so.2 file and found it in the following folders : /usr/lib/vmware/lib /usr/lib/vmware/libgdk_pixbuf.so.2 /opt/gnome/lib64 The first two folder contains the 32 bits version of this lib. The last one is the 64 bits version. When I force to install with the --nodeps option it installs fine but complains again on this libgdk lib when I try to launch it. How can I make Lazarus check for all those libs or where do I have to put it to make it run ?? That's my only problem. I've got the libs, both in 32 and 64 bits but Lazarus just can't find them ? Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Neo · 2004-11-24 21:56 OK, got it installed and running. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2005-02-13 08:12 I've installed Lazarus on my system and it works fine, but when I try to compile my source file lazarus throws the following error message: /usr/bin/ld: skipping incompatible /usr/lib/fpc/1.9.6/units/i386-linux/rtl/cprt21.o when searching for /usr/lib/fpc/1.9.6/units/i386-linux/rtl/cprt21.o /usr/bin/ld: cannot find /usr/lib/fpc/1.9.6/units/i386-linux/rtl/cprt21.o Error: Error while linking Closing script ppas.sh I looked in /usr/lib/fpc/1.9.6/units/i386-linux/rtl/ but cprt21.o was there. I changed the rights of cprt21.o but nothing happen. I ran lazarus as root user but nothing happen. I can imagine what I 've done wrong. Thanks a lot. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2005-02-14 08:55 One think that could explain your problems, is that your ld is targetting x64 (64 bit code), while you are using i386 object files. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2005-03-20 21:06 Neo : Could you please explain how you got it work ? Thanks !
