[debian testing] Lazarus crash in many selection tools lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ntx · 2004-09-30 13:16 Hi all, I have installed both FPC (fpcsrc-1.9.5-040821.tgz) and Lazarus (lazarus-040822.tgz) from source in my Debian (testing, not much up to date...). During the compiling process all goes well and all the stuff seems correctly installed (FPC is system-wide installed, Lazarus is installed only for my user under ~/lazarus). Under fvwm (2.4.x) I can correctly start Lazarus, typing code, add stuff to the form, etc.. But when I go into the Environment Options (Environment -> Environment Option) I can use any of the directory selectors (ex. the "..." button in the "Files" tab) or the color selectors ("Form Editor" tab) because Lazarus crash... I get no message when Lazarus crash (or is it better saying that closes itself?), I also take a look into the .xsession-error but there's nothing strange. Anyone has some idea about why Lazarus do that? May be I forget something that has to be installed external to Lazarus (ex. a library, upgrading the window manager)? Bye    Jenner ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Lightning · 2004-10-01 21:10 Maybe you have some old or incompatible libs on your system that cause the crash, a developement package perhaps, i know debian uses .deb packages that can be made from .rpm ones maybe you have some os problem (bad rpm->deb pkg) that only appears when an app neeeds something that isn't verry common, Lazarus has some dependencies. Yesterday I installed Lazarus lazarus-0.9.16-0.i386.rpm (alienized for Debian sid). Now I have a similar problem as Lightning, my FVWM 2.5.17-1 crashes when I'm using some dialogs and settings in the Properties menu. FVWM exits with "segmentation fault" but Lazarus continues to work properly. When I switch to a text console and restart FVWM it continues to work until I click around in the properties dialogs again. Lazarus is the only application which crashes FVWM here. Did anybody have some solutions since the nearly two years old issue of Lightning? GTK verwendet das default theme.
