I'll try to install them and post my results here thanks again.. TJ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thiagoalencar · 2004-08-14 16:04 It even now opened but... theres a problem... when its starting the program a message shows up saying: The free Pascal source directory was not found. Some code functions will not work. It is recommended that you install it and set the  path Environment -> Environment options -> Files Can you help me with that? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2004-08-14 18:47 I am not sure I can help you, because thisis something you have to do yourself. But you might be able to help me. The dialog message is suposed to be self explaining, but apparently not for you. I will try to eloborate a bit and I want to ask you, what the dialog message should be, so that would have been clear enough for you. QuoteThe free Pascal source directory was not found. Lazarus does some configuration at start up and noticed the free Pascal source directory was set correctly. QuoteSome code functions will not work. This happens when lazarus can't find the  free Pascal source directory. QuoteIt is recommended that you install itThis is what lazarus recommends you to do. The installation is what you have done by installing fpcsrc-1.9.5-040808.i386.rpm. Quote and set the path Environment -> Environment options -> FilesGo and click the environment menu, pick the environment options and look on the Files tab and set the free Pascal source directory. Please help us improve the dialog message. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2004-08-15 00:32 The dialog message is clear.. but the problem is that I have installed the fpcsrc and it wont find it... also I dont know where that path would be. I'd like to know if it is hard to make an "intaller" like windows setups ways that would do everything automatically (& install all packages needed) without interaction with the user. That I guess would help many people like me that is still starting on linux and don't know yet where stuff goes etc. Note: I'm using a knoppix(Debian) based system.. so I used the alien program to convert the rpm to deb files. Is that ok(exclamation poit) I have no exclamation point on my keyboard right now.. sorry. I'll always help with what I can. What do may I do now(exclmtion poit) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous · 2004-08-15 00:37 The last guest poster is my mine(thiagoalencar) couldnt login before sorry about that. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2004-08-15 07:32 Did you try all the suggestions in the drop down box?
