compile problems

I am having trouble compiling lazarus. I have installed the latest
stable version of fpc.  I am using Mandrake Linux 10.0 official. These
are my error messages:

graphics.pp(604,17) Warning: An inherited method is hidden by
TGRAPHIC.CREATE
Assembling graphics
intfgraphics.pas(1397,26) Error: Cannot access a private field of an
object here
intfgraphics.pas(3034,49) Error: Identifier not found PCOLORRGB
intfgraphics.pas(3034,68) Error: Illegal qualifier
intfgraphics.pas(3037,50) Error: Identifier not found PCOLORRGBA
intfgraphics.pas(3037,70) Error: Illegal qualifier
intfgraphics.pas(3288) Fatal: There were 5 errors compiling module,
stopping
make[1]: *** [alllclunits.ppu] Error 1

I made sure to install both the svgalib and svgalib development and
still no Luck
Any direction would be a big help

The fpc 1.0.10 (the latest stable) is not as capable as the current
beta release 1.9.4. This version is most used by the developers. From
time to time a incompatiblity with fpc 1.0.10 slips through. Thanks
for the report.

As soon as I find time (not later than this weekend) I will compile it
with fpc 1.0.10 to fix this error.

Thanks Vincent I really appreciat that. Do you think I should go ahead
and get fpc 1.9.4 and try to compile Lazarus and go with that or stick
with the current stable fpc?

IMHO fpc 1.9.4 is a better choice, also because you have updated rtl
and fcl (for better images support) too. But if you have fpc 1.0.10
installed, we (the developers) don't want to force you to upgrade to
fpc 1.9.x, since it is actually a beta release.

As far as I can see, Mattias fixed compilation fix fpc 1.0.x.
