Dev Notes for Community Version 5.23b - 2025-04-21 Since I'm getting a few little things, small incremental improvements, thus leading to the "a" and "b" versions, I thought I'd write up a dev note file for these. 5.23a: * formatted the display of the 5 fine boards you should (or could) call on logoff (thanks Phigan for the suggestion) * Added to maintenance a routine to prune slackers. This is broken up into 3 levels of slackers: 1) Have only called once, and last call was > 30 days ago. 2) Have called 2 - 5 times, and last call was > 90 days ago. 3) Have called 6 or more times, and last call was > 366 days ago. However, if the user has posted any chat messages or bulletins on the bulleting board then they will not be deleted. 5.23b: * When a new user registers you will receive a notification. The main purpose is to update the memory cache of usernames so that they don't show up as "Unknown" in various places. * When sitting idle at the main menu, although technically in Do Not Disturb (DND) mode you will see notifications of users logging in and out. This is more consistent with how other "multi-node" boards work and the only reason you are put into DND at the main menu is because you don't expect to see chat messages popping up and technically it's not possible to *not* be in a chat channel. * New users are no longer asked "When you log in do you want to go to the main menu or the chat rooms", instead all new users going forward will get the "classic" experience: dropped straight into chat. however, users can still go into preferences and set their preference to go to the main menu on login. I've also added a text "/main = main menu" right before going into chat and added the command "/main, Main Menu" to the '/?' help menu. * Finally got around to fixing that pesky -1 bug. You know the one, someone deletes a message and now your prompt shows something like -1/143. .
