Community Development Notes for Version 5.19 - 2025/03/10 The BBS now has a Gopher server: gopher://mutinybbs.com Here's how it works. It taps into the Text Files section so that user text files can be found & read through gopher. This includes the gopher client here on the BBS as well as any other gopher client in the known universe. The Jason Scott textfiles.com archive is not included as many other gopher sites already mirror this, if those start to go extinct I will include them in the future. I was assuming you wouldn't necessarily want your files showing up on Gopher automatically so here's how I did it: Within your directory, make a subdirectory called "pub" (as in public), any *published* files in that directory will show up on Gopher. You can make subdirectories under there if you want to organize things. In the Gopher client I added a 2nd "default start", so #1 is Floodgap (just like before) and #2 is Community's gopher server. Oh, also I fixed a bug in the text files area which prevented you from copying a file within the same directory, you could use copy to make a copy of a file into a different directory but if you wanted to make a copy in the same directory you couldn't, until now. .
