Dev Notes for Mutiny Community Version 3.3 - 2022-08-20 * The command '/rere' (and '/rere msgnum') can be used to edit one of your message's "re:" number (in-response-to). This follows the same rules for editing/deleting messages, it needs to be your message and it can't be more than 15 minutes old. * Added new chat feature: Pinned messages. /pin : pins the last message you read /pin 123 : pins message # 123 /pin p : private pins the last message you read /pin 123 p : private pins message # 123 /pins : lists either your pins (both public and private) or all public pins (even those from other users) /unpin 123 : unpins message # 123 * the /w command has been made an alias for /who, /who still works as before. To get the users list use /u or /users, which has always been an alias for what "/w" was doing before. * you can change channels using [ and ] keys, [ to move back (or wrap around) and ] to move forward (or wrap around). * you can navigate through messages using < and > keys (well , and . but you can hold down shift if you want). > is exactly the same as pressing enter. < you may need to press more than once the first time since by default the message pointer is always one step ahead of the last message you read. Once you start reading in reverse you'll only need to press < once to go back to the previous message. * for newish users (< 10 calls) I've added some text right before the initial prompt to explain the very basics: Press enter to read, to post/respond just type. This is because I've noticed quite a few new users lately that make an account, spend no more than 2 minutes online, and leave without doing anything. I'm assuming these people are just flustered as this system is just so different from what they're expecting or they realize they're in a chat room, immedately get shy and run away before they are forced to engage in conversation. but really do we even want people like that here? I mean if you're not willing to communicate with other humans why come to Community? :) * Improved the help menus as they were sort of wall-of-text-ish and probably just did more harm than good (TLDR), tried to trim it down to just the basics and to explain each command as tersely as possible and still get the point across. .
