Information: connect - how to enter the world of Nemesis Description: There are a number of different ways to connect to Nemesis: Besides the MUD Web Client https://nemesis.de/connect/client/ (playing Nemesis from your browser) you can connect via your favourite MUD client. Here are the technical details: encrypted (SSL/TLS) and plain (no SSL/TLS). Here is a list of ports (TCP/IP): Gaming ports: Port 23 plain - the "old" default port for 'telnet'. Port 2000 plain - the traditional port to connect to Nemesis. Port 2005 plain - an alternative to port 2000. Port 2020 encrypted - via SSL/TLS secured connections. Port 20000 encrypted - an alternative to the secure port 2020. Nemesis offers different ports providing the same services to get through firewalls and/or port filters on your side. Special ports for wizards/coders (code upload and download and special development): Port 21 FTP - standard port for FTP (not encrypted), see 'help ftp' (wizards' help only). Port 443 HTTPS - the Nemesis MudFM https://nemesis.de/files/ , encrypted, see 'help mudfm' (wizards' help only). Port 1999 MTP - see 'help mtp' (wizards' only), no encryption. Port 2001 Nemesis test MUD "NemTest" - for development only, plain - no encrypion. NO gaming! Port 2021 Nemesis test MUD "NemTest" - encrypted connections. Note: If you lose your connection to Nemesis, especially while you are idle (that is to say: doing nothing), see also 'help keepalive' and 'help set'. This document only is a quick reference card.
