878 *** On the QuIX Front I finally got all the bugs worked out on displaying mail on the gopher! It is fantastic! Less and less reasons to have an HTTP server! Right now, one of my personal accounts is on the gopher but I will take that down as soon as I get another email account set up for general things. Instant Archive!! *** At Work Yesterday had an interesting call from Mora. It sounded very bad at the beginning and I thought we might have to get a laptop LCD panel replaced! After some more questions, it only turned out to be a loose connection on an attached FP monitor. I got a lot of wonderful understanding on what can cause a reddish tint on FPs at the very least! *** Winning Tip of the Day (from PC Magazine) I always loved how my Windows 98 box (I keep two at home for games for the kids and to read emails that have Office attachments) had an expanded list of SendToX options when you right-clicked on anything -- I can easily send anything to a new folder via Send To! Well, XP, for all the neat stuff it can do, doesn't have such a thing, and I frankly forgot how I had originally done it on 98. PC Magazine (on page 59 of the April 26, 2005 issue) informed me that the Win95 Power Toys (that was where I had gotten it!) could be installed on XP (some of the toys are not very useful) and that the great additions to SendTo worked quite well. I followed the instructions and IT WORKED like a charm! Now the old days are right here!! If you are having problems finding Power Toys, just go to Google and search for "Windows 95 Power Toys" and go to the Microsoft page. Remember, Microsoft offers NO support for Power Toys and you use them at your own risk. *** Home Things I biked to work yesterday and actually tried to bike home. It was terrible! The ride up was fine (always is) but the ride home at the end of the day is a killer!! I didn't get there until 6:00 and didn't have time to do hardly ANYTHING! Lisa decided that I could ride to work every day and that she would pick me up from work each evening so we could conserve some time. The whole idea of biking was to get some exercise not to make life miserable!! 0
